Adventureland Curriculum for November

Grade School Curriculum

Adventureland Staffing Changes

If you are thinking that some of personnel have moved to different areas of Adventureland – you are right! About a month ago our superb Grade School Programming Coordinator, Brenda Cochrane, decided to leave our staff to have more time with her family. Although Brenda has graciously agreed to continue to help out on weekends as a volunteer, our grade schoolers needed someone to love on them and their teachers.

Brianna McRae, who is always up for a new adventure, has risen to the challenge and moved upstairs to help Merak keep things organized and under control. This left the Nursery without a coordinator and Nadene Batt has taken on the role of loving on our babies every week. Nora Cochrane has expanded her role as Preschool Coordinator to take over supervising the first friendly faces of Adventureland at our desk in the south lobby and organizing our special events. The one thing that has not changed is our commitment to your children and to teach them to love God, love others, and change the world through Christ every weekend!

Adventureland presents “The Greatest Gift” – December 5/6

• Sunday, November 29 – 3:00 – 5:00 pm – Our first dress rehearsal will be in the Auditorium.
  • Sign in/out will be in your children’s classroom and we will provide a quick snack for the kids prior to heading down to the Auditorium.
  • We are only asking the preschoolers to be here from 3:00 – 4:00 pm.
• Wednesday, December 2 – 6:30 – 7:45 pm – Our final dress rehearsal for grade school (not preschool) .

The Rock Solid Choir presents “The Greatest Gift” – December 5/6

In November, there will be two extra practices in addition to our regular Wednesday practices.  The following times will allow the choir to get used to being in the auditorium:

• Wednesday, November 11 – we will meet from 4:30 – 7:45 pm on the Remembrance Day Holiday.  We will provide supper for the kids.
• Sunday, November 15 – we will have a practice from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.  We will provide a quick snack for the kids before the practice begins.
• Sunday, November 29 – 3:00 – 5:00 pm where we will joining Adventureland for our Dress Rehearsal.

H1N1 Precautions in Adventureland

• Trinity has installed hand sanitizer stations around the church for adult use, however, we have not made them readily accessible in the Adventureland areas due to the alcohol content.
• We will be offering hand sanitizers in our Nursery for parents and leaders to use before being with the babies.
• In our preschool wing, we will be having children wash their hands when entering and exiting the rooms with the exception of our Orange room which will use baby wipes.
• We will be limiting the amount of toys and access to small toys in all our Adventureland areas.
• We will be sanitizing toys that are used by children through our commercial dishwasher on a weekly basis.
• Most importantly, all our staff and volunteer leaders will be vigilent about our illness policy in Adventureland.  To this end, we would ask that children with running noses, high fever, or flu symptoms not attend Adventureland.  Volunteers themselves will not attend when they are sick.  Any parents who may be willing to help replace volunteers who are sick, please contact Nadene Batt at nbatt@trinitybaptist.net.

Alexandra Gardner House Mission Project Giving

Since September, we have been putting our weekly offering towards this project.  Children have also been encouraged to donate Canadian Tire Money.  Our goal is to raise $1,000 by the end of February 2010.  To the end of October, we have raised a total of $307.31; $296.91 in cash and $10.40 in Canadian Tire Money.  Way to go kids, let’s keep it up!

Parents and Tots Group

Our Wednesday morning playtime is a great time to connect with other parents and tots !  We meet on Wednesdays at 9:00 am in the Nursery until you or your little ones want to go home!
